Job description
Job responsibilities
To
work as one of a team of Drs and nurses delivering general practice services to
patients registered at Belgrave Medical Centre.
Main Duties
and Responsibilities
- To undertake non-urgent and urgent
consultations for registered and temp patients.
- To undertake telephone / triage
consultations
- To undertake Home
visits
- To undertake
On-call clinics and extended hours
- To check and sign
patient prescriptions
- To complete the
process of daily patient test results
- To produce medical
reports as when required
- To complete
administration of relevant paperwork including referrals
- To record clear
and contemporaneous consultation notes
- Supervisor nursing
staff in matters relating to the treatment of patients
- To participate in
relevant training and mentorship
- Attend and
participate in any Clinical Meetings
- To carry out
audits as required
- Keep up to date
with advances in medicine and practices and support other medical and
clinical staff to do the same
- Maintain own
continuous professional development (CPD) and contribute to own enhance
personal development performance through continuously developing own
knowledge and skills to meet the current and future requirements of the
job and respond to the learning needs of the service and by participating
in island GP’s annual appraisal
- Be involved in
ensuring that QOF/QIF and Enhanced Service targets are met
- Work with
management team to achieve standards of quality performance budgets and
targets without compromising patient healthcare
- Liaise with the
Senior Partner / Practice Manager in the overall functioning and
efficiency of the practice
- To share and
utilise areas of practice with peers and non-clinical colleagues to inform
and enhance patient care
- To liaise with
local health services, Hospitals, Walk in Centres, Social Services,
District Nursing Team, Palliative Care teams and other external services
when a patient referral or specialist advice is required
- To be aware of
current Safeguarding processes and refer as appropriate to Social
Services/other external agencies.
- Adhere to the
local clinical pathways
- To guide
prescribing staff so that, prescribing and medicines management is safe
and effective and as appropriate, comforms to:
- NICE guidance and
DH directions
- Good Prescribing

Royal Pharmaceutical Society
