Job summary
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic team. As an HCA, you will play a crucial role in supporting the clinical team and ensuring high quality patient care. Working under the guidance of nurses and GPs, you will assist with a variety of clinical and administrative tasks, contributing to health promotion, chronic disease management, and the delivery of routine clinical procedures.
Main duties of the job

Conduct
new patient health checks, including monitoring vital signs (blood pressure,
pulse, temperature).

Perform
ECGs, phlebotomy, urinalysis, diabetic foot checks and Doppler
assessments.

Administer
vaccinations (flu, B12, pneumonia).

Apply
dressings and perform suture removal (if trained) and provide general wound
care.

Assist
with management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and COPD.
-
Perform
ear syringing.
-
Provide
support for patients in smoking cessation programs.
-
Ensure
consulting rooms are prepared and appropriately stocked.
-
Support
GPs during minor surgery and clinical interventions.
-
Follow
strict infection control practices to maintain a safe and clean environment.

Safely
dispose of clinical waste as per safety regulations.

Monitor
and manage the stock of medical supplies, vaccines and clinical equipment.

training practice located in the heart of Thornton Heath, South London, serving
a diverse patient population of over 10,000. Situated opposite Croydon
University Hospital, we are well-served by public transport, making our

Four GP partners, supported by salaried GPs, a physician
associate and a nursing team. We belong to small but dynamic PCN and benefit
from the expertise of other health professionals such a first contact
physiotherapist, a mental health practitioner, clinical pharmacists and a
social prescriber.
