Job summary

Kirklands Surgery is looking for an GP Reception Manager to join our friendly practice.

The position is for 24 hours a week, days and times to be confirmed but will include morning and afternoon shifts.

Main duties of the job

An ideal candidate will be an reliable, enthusiastic individual with fantastic customer service skills, a good understanding NHS and ability to provide reception management skills in a fast-paced working environment. They must have:

A great patient experience and good skills to be able to provide solid support to our clinical and nursing teams.

Excellent organizational skills, be a good verbal and written communicator.

Experience of working in GP surgery is essential

We are a forward thinking and progressive practice, constantly working to improve standards, the patient journey and clinical outcomes.

Our clinical workforce consists of 3 GP Partners and 5 Salaried GPs, 1 Paramedic Practitioner as well as 2 Practice Nurses and 2 Health Care Assistant, 12 receptionists/ admin.

Job responsibilities

Although it will be a busy role, you will be fully supported within the management team The practice list size is currently around 9700 patients. You will be expected to oversee daily operations of reception as well as motivating and supporting staff to deliver high quality services. You will need to demonstrate leadership and management skills to ensure the practice meets its objectives within an efficient and effective working environment.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to managing staff rotas, managing clinical room rotas managing reception staff HR issues and appointment management.

List of essential and desirable criteria are listed in more detail below however candidates need to be aware, it is essential that you have good knowledge of the systmone used within the practice and have the skills required to monitor and manage processes workflow

Candidates must have strong organizational, prioritization and leadership skills, and be able to remain focused in pressured situations. You must show that you are an approachable person to work with and have the ability to manage teams, in particular designating work fairly.
