Job summary

We are looking for a Care Navigator/Receptionist to join our friendly Team.

Your working hours will be over 3-4 days (negotiable) which will include a late shift until 6.30-7pm on a Thursday. You will need to be flexible with your working hours to help cover annual leave etc.

Applicants must have good communication skills and be able to work in a Team and under pressure.

Experience is an advantage but not essential.

Main duties of the job

Your main area of work will be in the reception Area. We have a large Administration team and a very friendly Reception Manager.

We are a training practice in South East London which caters for both Trainee GP's and Student Nurses.

We have a Multi Disciplinary Team made up of 4 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, ANP, 3 PNs, 2 HCA, Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physiotherapist, Mental Health Nurse & an Excellent Administrative Team

Job summary:

Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

Job responsibilities:

Administration

  • To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures
  • To work in accordance of written protocols

Reception

  • Receiving patients, consulting with members of practice team
  • Be able to cover all reception position as necessary
Appointments
  • Process appointment requests for today/future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
  • Deal with visits/requests

Computer

  • Process patients changes of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area)
  • Process repeat prescription requests in accordance with practice guidelines

Telephone

  • Have working knowledge of telephone system, during and after hours
Other Tasks
  • Clear rooms at the end of the working day
  • Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm
  • Any other tasks allocated by managers

  • Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards
