Granville House Medical Centre have an opening for an experienced part-time Health Care Assistant to join the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated team player who is willing to develop the role within our nursing team.
Working independently and collaboratively with our clinicians, and strictly in accordance with practice guidelines and protocols you will assist in the provision and delivery of excellent patient care.

Main duties of the job
With a holistic approach, the successful candidate will work within the practice nursing team to ensure the efficient and effective provision of nursing services to our patient population.
It is essential that the post holder has excellent communication skills and a patient centred approach.
You will be heavily involved in the long-term management of our patients with varying needs and will have a proactive role in providing treatment, education, preventative care and health promotion.
Regular hours may include a regular extended access clinic outside of core hours, so flexibility is required.

Job responsibilities
Clinical responsibilities include
Blood Pressure monitoring/Hypertension reviews.
ECG recording.
New patient and NHS health checks.
Phlebotomy.
Vaccinations.
Diabetic foot checks.
Infection control and equipment management.
Vaccine cold chain storage, monitoring, recording and stock control.
Contribute to QOF, Quality Contract and other Enhanced Services.
Urinalysis and the preparation of specimen.
Obtaining patients lifestyle information to keep records accurate and to offer education or signposting to services that support their health and wellbeing
Follow clinical and practice protocols and work within competence.
Assist in ensuring Health & Safety policies and procedures are followed.
Administrative responsibilities include
Attend and participate in practice meetings as required.
Assist with the collection and collation of data relating to population health and well-being.
Assist with seasonal programmes as requested.
Additional ad-hoc tasks as required.
