Salaried GP

Job summary

we are looking for a new salaried GP to replace our retiring doctor in the new year and to join our team at Port Isaac Practice on the North Cornwall Coast. We operate out of Port Isaac Surgery with sea views from the clinical rooms, and Bridge Medical Centre on the riverside in Wadebridge.

We are a friendly rural dispensing practice with a commitment to a balanced workload. Full digital triage means manageable workdays whether on duty or in a routine clinic, with less than 25 patient contacts on a routine day.

As well as our four partners, two salaried doctors, nurses, HCAs and administrative support, we have in house pharmacy, physiotherapy and mental health teams based in our Wadebridge surgery through our membership of North Cornwall Coast PCN.

Training is delivered to GP registrars and Foundation Year 2 doctors as well as medical students visiting from out of county. There is a weekly multidisciplinary team meeting to discuss patients as well as interesting cases, giving an opportunity to catch up with the rest of the team. We are also very active in primary care research with a full-time research nurse undertaking both NHS and commercial clinical research, and opportunities for GPs at the practice to become involved.

Main duties of the job

We've worked hard over the last few years to run a successful practice. GPs work six sessions per week and the workload is definitely manageable. We host many of our PCN staff in our riverside building in Wadebridge.
