Job summary
Cwm Garw Practice is seeking to appoint a motivated, dynamic and compassionate Salaried General Practitioner to join our established primary care team in Wales. This fixed-term post offers the opportunity to work within a supportive dispensing practice delivering high-quality General Medical Services (GMS) in line with the GMS contract, NHS Wales policies and clinical governance requirements.
The role offers clinical autonomy, flexibility and the opportunity to work within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
Main duties of the job
Provide safe, effective and patient-centred primary medical care to registered patients
Undertake routine and urgent consultations (face-to-face, telephone and/or digital)
Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions in line with NICE guidance and best practice
Prescribe safely and appropriately within professional and practice guidelines
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using the practice clinical system
Participate in clinical governance activities including audit, quality improvement and significant event analysis
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and wider Primary Care Cluster
Contribute to practice meetings and service development
Comply with NHS Wales policies, safeguarding responsibilities and information governance requirements

- Indemnity arrangements in line with NHS Wales requirements
- Membership of the NHS Pension Scheme
- Annual leave and study leave in accordance with BMA / NHS Wales guidance
- Supportive practice management and experienced GP colleagues

Essential Criteria
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Completion of GP Specialty Training (CCT or equivalent)
- Inclusion on the NHS Wales Performers List (or eligibility to apply)
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and the values of NHS Wales
- Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills
Desirable
- Experience of working in a dispensing and/or rural practice setting
- Interest in developing a clinical or non-clinical special interest
- Welsh language skills (desirable but not essential)
