Job summary

Cwm Garw Practice is seeking to appoint a motivated, dynamic and compassionate Salaried General Practitioner to join our established primary care team in Wales. This fixed-term post offers the opportunity to work within a supportive dispensing practice delivering high-quality General Medical Services (GMS) in line with the GMS contract, NHS Wales policies and clinical governance requirements.

The role offers clinical autonomy, flexibility and the opportunity to work within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide safe, effective and patient-centred primary medical care to registered patients

  • Undertake routine and urgent consultations (face-to-face, telephone and/or digital)

  • Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions in line with NICE guidance and best practice

  • Prescribe safely and appropriately within professional and practice guidelines

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using the practice clinical system

  • Participate in clinical governance activities including audit, quality improvement and significant event analysis

  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and wider Primary Care Cluster

  • Contribute to practice meetings and service development

  • Comply with NHS Wales policies, safeguarding responsibilities and information governance requirements

    Start date: Flexible. Salary: Sessional rate negotiable depending on experience.

    Essential Criteria

    • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
    • Completion of GP Specialty Training (CCT or equivalent)
    • Inclusion on the NHS Wales Performers List (or eligibility to apply)
    • Commitment to high-quality patient care and the values of NHS Wales
    • Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills

    Desirable

    • Experience of working in a dispensing and/or rural practice setting
    • Interest in developing a clinical or non-clinical special interest
    • Welsh language skills (desirable but not essential)
