Job summary

We are looking for an receptionist/administrator, with good people skills to join our friendly team.

You will also need to possess a high level of organisation skills, have excellent communications skills with a good team spirit.

High level of quality customer care is an integral part of the role.You will need to have the ability to be self motivated and be confident on using your own initiative within the limits of the role.

Main duties of the job

  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • To open/close practice
  • Room check end of the day
  • To assist with the smooth running of the practice
  • To ensure all visitors and telephone callers to the practice are greeted professionally and friendly.
  • New patient registrations.
  • Call/recall of patients on chronic disease register and or long term conditions register.
  • Making appointments on Emis Web, submitting triages for patients who are unable to do so.
  • Dealing with all telephone queries/prescription requests from patients.
  • Filing patient records/post.
  • Ad hoc from PM and or partners.

Keats Surgery is based in Edmonton, with good travel links by car and public transport.

Our dedicated team 2 GP's, 2 nurses with 8 reception/ admin staff

Job responsibilities

  • To answer telephone calls promptly and deal with enquiries in a helpful and courteous manner.
  • Booking, cancelling, amending patient appointments.
  • To have an overview of the demands and workflow of the practice during the day.
  • Registering new patients within the catchment area.
  • Dealing with internal and external post.
  • Scanning and action the clinical correspondence as per GP instructions.
  • Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of the team.
  • Previous experience essential.
  • To be flexible to cover shifts in the event of staff holidays and sickness at short notice
