We are a four GP partnered training practice. Mostly when a staff member leaves it is because of retirement. Most of our staff have been with the surgery for many years as we have a happy "family" feel working environment. If you are a team player and looking for a challenge this is the surgery for you.
Main duties of the job
We would like a nurse who is flexible in their attitude and competent with chronic reviews, child immunisations, smear taking, wound dressings, ear syringing, travel immunisation. However, if these are not skills you possess and we feel you are the right candidate for Little London Surgery we would offer the training necessary.

Little London Surgery is located in South Walsall, West Midlands. The building itself has expanded over the years. We are a training practice, we offer minor surgery. We are part of South 1 PCN and provide the extended access for our PCN to our patients. We have approximately 9,400 registered patients. Qualifications
Essential
- Qualifications and Training
- Registered first level nurse
- Clinical supervision training and experience
- Relevant nursing/health degree
- Mentor/teaching qualification
- Experience
- Minimum 2 years post registration experience
- At least 1 year recent primary and community nursing experience
- Management of long-term conditions
- Involvement in implementing and using protocols and clinical guidelines
- Experience of audit
- Participation in quality initiatives such as clinical benchmarking
- Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of needs of patients with long-term conditions
- Aware of accountability of own role and other roles in a nurse led service
- Knowledge of health promotion strategies
- Awareness of clinical governance issues in primary care
- Knowledge of patient group directives and associated policy
- Various clinical skills cervical cytology, immunisation and vaccination, ear care, minor surgery
- Change management skills to support patients to
- change lifestyle
- Communication skills, both written and verbal
- Negotiation and conflict management skills
- Experience of teaching and mentorship in a clinical setting
- Ability to identify determinants on health in the local area
