Job summary

Cam and Uley Family Practice are looking to employ a part-time Housekeeper to join the housekeeping team. We are looking to recruit a housekeeper to work Monday to Friday, 6:00-9:30am Monday to Friday for 17.5 hours per week. Experience preferred, however training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

To ensure a high standard of cleanliness within the organisation is implemented and maintained. The candidate will work alongside other members of the team to undertake daily duties for their allocated area of the building following a cleaning schedule.

Cam and Uley Family Practice is a four partner general practice located on the edge of the Cotswolds serving a population of 10,000 patients. Cam is the main, larger site with a smaller branch surgery in Uley. The main site and branch surgery are 4 miles apart.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the housekeeper.

To maintain cleaning standards using the recognised quality control procedures as detailed within the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021

For auditing purposes, to maintain robust cleaning records to detail activity

To follow the cleaning schedule as stated in the Cleaning Standards and Schedule Policy

To ensure that the correct cleaning methods are observed

To use cleaning equipment in a safe and effective manner, adhering to manufacturers instructions

To replenish all consumable items (hand towels, toilet roll, etc.) as required ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained

Replacement of disposable patient couch curtains on a rota basis in conjunction with the Facilities Manager

To remove general waste in accordance with the Waste Management Policy and inconsideration of the organisations Environmental and Sustainability Policy

To always adhere to the colour coding system for cleaning equipment, seeking appropriate guidance if required

To ensure all cleaning materials are stored in a safe and secure manner, adhering to COSHH, HASAW and other legislative acts and guidance

To maintain communication and report any faulty equipment or defects to the Facilities Manager / Practice Manager as soon as practically possible
