Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our dedicated team supporting the delivery of a high-quality vasectomy service within our GP practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an HCA with an interest in minor procedures, mens health, and patient-centred care.
You will work closely with the vasectomy clinician and wider practice team to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient running of clinic sessions.
Main duties of the job
Prepare clinical rooms and ensure all equipment is sterile, set up, and ready for procedures.
Welcome patients, provide reassurance, and assist with pre-procedure checks.
Act as a chaperone during consultations and procedures where required.
Provide clear aftercare advice and support to patients following their procedure.
Assist the clinician during vasectomy procedures, including stock management, instrument handling, and documentation.
Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control.
Complete relevant administrative tasks including data entry, stock ordering, and updating patient records.
Support the general functioning of the practice as required.
