Job overview
Brook Medical Centre and
Derwent Medical Centre are looking to recruit an Associate Practice Manager.
The post holder will work with the Practice Business Manager in ensuring the
smooth running of the day to day operation of both practices, managing change
and developing both practices to prepare for the future.
We are looking for an
individual who has experience of managing a team, and who has excellent
interpersonal and IT skills. You must be organised and confident and able to
work on your own initiative. You will need a friendly and approachable manner
and have the ability to work under pressure in a changing environment. Previous
primary care and use of System One is desirable.

The practices are situated
approximately one mile apart and cover a practice population of 9000 with 3 GP
partners. They are small friendly practices with traditional values.
Benefits include 5 weeks

This post is subject to the
Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be
necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and
Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal
convictions.
Main duties of the job
- To work with the business manager in the day-to-day operations of both practices, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities and both practices become Centres of Excellence
- Oversee recruitment and retention of staff and manage HR issues
- Practice Administrator for clinical system
- Support the business manager in developing and reviewing practice policies and procedures.
- Support the overall practice clinical governance framework
- Assist in ensuring both practices achieve maximum QOF and enhance services indicators
- Assist the Business Manager with Primary Care Networks (PCN) collaboration and plans.
- Convene staff meetings, prepare agendas and ensure distribution of minutes as necessary.
- Liaise at external meetings as required.
- Assist the business manager in ensuring both practices are CQC compliant
- Deputise for the business manager in her absence.

- Experience of successfully developing and implementing projects.

- Relevant Health & Safety experience
- Experience of chairing meetings, producing agendas and minutes.

- Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
