Clinical Pharmacist

Job summary

We are looking for a Clinical Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team at Priory Medical Group.

Working up to 40 hours per week

You'll work alongside our experienced pharmacy and clinical teams to deliver exceptional patient care.

You will be a GPhC registered pharmacist, ideally you will have Primary Care experience and be and independent prescriber. However, we would be happy to support the right individual with training and development.

Main duties of the job

You'll have your own telephone and face to face clinics to consult with our patients on medication related queries and across a wide variety of clinical areas. You will work alongside our pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and the rest of the pharmacy team to oversee medication changes for newly diagnosed patients, i.e. Atrial Fibrillation, Osteoporosis etc, and oversee our patient register of DMARD patients.

You will be the source of medicines information for the weekly MDT, liaising with various professional to achieve the best outcome for patients. You will also be involved in training and development of trainee pharmacists and student technicians. There is scope for research and quality improvement projects as we strive to develop our service.

About us

We are a friendly, well organised and social surgery with an increasing patient list of 15,550 patients, operating from three sites; North Shields, Hadrian Park and Tynemouth.

We are a teaching practice with GP Registrars, F2 Doctors, Physician Associate, pharmacy and medical students on placement.

Our clinical team comprises; 7 GP Partners, 6 Salaried GPs, 3 Practice Nurses, 3 HCAs, Physician Associate, 3 Pharmacists and 3 Pharmacy Technicians.

The practice hosts First Contact Physio clinics and has an in-house Mental Health Nurse.

Alongside our in-house Pharmacy Team, we work with the North Shields PCN pharmacy Team to provide medication reviews for our patients.
