Job summary

Primrose Surgery is a well-established Practice situated in Trafford, providing General Medical Services to around 7,300 patients. We are pleased to offer a salaried GP position to expand our friendly team.

We are looking to recruit a keen and enthusiastic GP who can demonstrate commitment and flexibility and share in delivering a high standard of medicine to our patients.

We provide minor surgery, family planning as well as a full complement of enhanced medical services; we are a training practice and we are part of Trafford West PCN.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work within the practice clinical team to deliver effective, high quality care, treatment and advice to our patients through face to face, telephone, video and online consultations. We would expect the successful candidate to play an active part in the practice and attend meetings, assist the practice in achieving QOF targets and other local enhanced service targets.

About us

We are a relatively small practice and we have a friendly team of three GP Partners, 2 Salaried GP's, 2 Practice Nurses, 2 Healthcare Assistants, 1 Clinical Pharmacist,ARRS' and administrative staff inc a medicines management team. The clinical systems we use are EMIS Web, Docman and AskmyGP.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The post holder will provide medical services to registered patients in accordance with the Partnership GMS Contract. Your responsibilities will include the following:-

  • Responding to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral where appropriate.
  • Providing appropriate preventative health care and advice.
  • Adhering to the ICB Prescribing Formulary.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Partnership Protocols and Policies with regard to achieving QOF targets
  • Attending meetings and education meetings
  • Contributing to the development of and adhering to protocols/systems for the management of common medical conditions.
  • Participating in clinical governance activity and contributing to the improvement in quality of health outcomes
  • Clinically related administrative and non-clinical duties necessary for the delivery of GMS.
  • Engaging in appropriate educational activity in order to maintain clinical competence and performance
  • Participating in the training and development of nurses, medical students and GP Registrars in the Partnership.
  • Supporting the Partnership staff and responding to requests for advice and assistance from the Partnership Reception, Secretarial and Nursing staff.
  • To maintain the Partnerships high clinical standards by using clinical governance audits and other information to review patients results, prescribing, disease etc
  • To undertake those daily tasks such as results, letters, reports, repeat prescribing etc for all patients as required
  • At all times to behave in a professional way that encourages quality practice and the development of team spirit.

  • Currently on a PCT performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical register
  • DBS clearance
