Admin Assistant (GP Practice)
The closing date is 03 February 2026
Job summary
Due to a member of our admin moving internally to our new medication management team as an administrator, Roseneath Medical Practice are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and capable administrator to join our admin team.
Prior GP experience would be advantageous but training will be given and we would welcome applications from those with admin experience gained from outside primary care.
The successful applicant will be a team player who is able to work with the GPs, nurses and receptionists in order to help our patients with their needs and should have a hands on, can do attitude.
We are looking for someone to work 20 hours per week, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons (ideally 12.00 to 17.00).
Main duties of the job
The role will involve handling the clinical correspondence coming into the practice, ensuring it is scanned into the patients notes and drawn to the attention of the relevant clinician through the Document management system, dealing with telephone calls from patients, photocopying, summarising notes, and other general administrative duties (this could include helping with referrals into secondary care). We use the EMIS clinical system and again whilst previous experience using this system would be beneficial, training will be given to the successful candidate.
We are a very busy and expanding practice. Good computer and communication skills are therefore essential along with a positive attitude towards making the practice run smoothly.
About us
Roseneath is a partnership of 6 GPs who are supported by a salaried GP, ANP and team of nurses along with reception and admin teams, a Practice Manager and Deputy Practice Manager.
Many of our staff are long tenured and we regularly receive applications from staff working at other surgeries, which hopefully indicates that we are seen as a great place to work for those wanting to work in primary care. Our admin team are busy throughout the day so if you are looking for a challenging but rewarding role, we would love to hear from you.
Primary care continues to evolve and we now operate a full patient triage service that ensures patients are seen based on medical and last August, we went live with electronic prescribing, meaning we no longer reply on paper prescriptions. The successful applicant will play a pivotal part in the experience of our patients as technology evolves.
NHS Pension available (employees contribute as well as Roseneath)
