Job summary
We are looking to fill a part-time vacancy, 20 hours per week with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
The hours and days are fixed 20 hours over 3 days (Monday - 9am -4:30pm, Wednesday - 8am-3:30pm &Friday - 11:30am - 5:30pm)
You will learn various duties across the admin team to offer extra support where needed. The role will adapt and change overtime with additional duties and will require some flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness, sometimes at short notice.
Main duties of the job
You will undertake a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties, support patients to get the care they need in a kind, sensitive, efficient and flexible manner. Offer support to the clinical team to work effectively and efficiently and communicate this to patient's on their behalf.

Birley Health Centre is an extremely busy surgery. We are always striving for ways to improve our services and provide the best possible care for our patients.
You will be work closely alongside GP's, Healthcare Assistants, Nurses, Reception and the Admin teams.
We like to support the community with various charity events. MacMillan Coffee/Cake Mornings, Red Nose Day.
We have planned night's out, Christmas Do's, all are welcome.
Many of our staff live locally however we have fantastic transport links with the Super Tram stopping right outside and a large, free car park.

Job responsibilities
Your main duties will be :-
- Insurance claims
- Process and complete referrals using the Electronic Referral Service (ERS) and C the Signs.
- Letter typing using Lexacom.
- Chase existing referrals.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary team members and external care providers including Secondary Care, Community Services, Coroners, Registry Office.
- Monitor the generic email and distribute accordingly.
- Contribute to monthly admin meetings.
- Ordering of consumables.
- Outgoing and incoming post.
- IT - reporting faults, changing toners etc.
- Email and photocopy documents.
- Input and update patient details in the electronic clinical record system.
- File records, reports, letters and correspondence efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure messages are fully documented and swiftly passed on to the intended recipient.
