Healthcare Assistant/Phlebotomist

We are seeking to recruit a new Healthcare Assistant/Phlebotomist.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive HCA to join our busy team.
This is an exciting time for the practice and the successful candidate will
have a fantastic opportunity to use their skills to further develop this role
whilst providing a high standard of care.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care to patients under the supervision of the Nurse Manager
- Perform phlebotomy, BP checks, wound care, administer injections and vaccinations, diabetic foot checks and health checks and assist with procedures as directed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The HCA/Phlebotomist will assist the Practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care, including:
- Obtaining patient consent for the collection of blood samples
- Phlebotomy
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Height and weight monitoring (incl BMI)
- Flu vaccinations (under PSD)
- Wound care
- Frailty Checks
- NHS Health Checks
- Injections (under PSD)
- Ensuring samples are sent to the laboratory in a timely manner
- Chaperoning duties
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Checking emergency equipment (defibrillator, oxygen and emergency box)
- Checking medical equipment
- Support and participate in shared learning within the practice
- Cleaning blood pressure cuffs and stethoscopes
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
- Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
- Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and wellbeing
- Re-stocking clinical rooms
