Job summary

South Lawn Medical Practice is looking for an innovative, self-motivated, forward thinking and adaptable Registered General Practice Nurse to join their friendly, forward-looking team. We are seeking someone with a positive mindset that is adaptable and willing to develop themselves further. Experience of General practice is preferred, along with knowledge and experience in supporting patients with COPD, Diabetes and Chronic illness. The successful candidate would be joining a team of 3 practice nurses, a nursing associate and 2 HCAs at a time when the practice is looking to develop and upskill the nursing team. SLMP is a medium sized practice with 6 GP partners and 1 retainer, where continuity and excellent patient care is at the centre of what we do.

Main duties of the job

Registered Nurse Hold (or about to be awarded) a first level degree in nursing Wellbeing and Health Promotion

Knowledge of quality assurance processes Using electronic healthcare records systems Able to work alone without direct supervision when appropriate Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills IT skills Time Management kindness and compassion Demonstrate ability to reflect and learn from situations Identifies difficulties as challenges and works with others to identify solutions Demonstrates co-operative team working and awareness of the roles of other professionals

Ability to work flexibly across days of the week Enthusiasm for primary care

Supported by senior nurses within the practice, they will deliver care within the boundaries of their role, focusing upon supporting patients to be healthy, monitoring long-term conditions, and engaging in health prevention and screening activities. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required.
