Job summary
The Practice Administrator plays a key role in
supporting the smooth and efficient running of the GP practice. The post holder
will provide high-quality administrative support across clinical and
non-clinical services, ensuring compliance with NHS regulations, maintaining
accurate records, and delivering excellent patient-focused service.
Main duties of the job
The role provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Practice Manager, Patient Services Manager, and wider practice team, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the practice. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate patient records, undertaking clinical coding, supporting clinical systems and workflows, and assisting with meeting organisation and documentation. The role also supports data collection, reporting, and audits to meet QOF, NHS, and CQC requirements, helping ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and contractual standards. In addition, the post holder assists with basic HR administration such as rota and leave records, maintains strict confidentiality, and contributes to continuous improvement across the practice.
