Patient Safety & Audits: Conduct targeted clinical audits (e.g., high-risk drug monitoring, MHRA alerts) to ensure patient safety and compliance with local prescribing guidelines.
Cost-Effective Prescribing: Lead on "medicine switches" and quality improvement projects to ensure the practice is prescribing evidence-based, cost-effective treatments.
Patient Liaison: Provide technical advice to patients over the phone or in person regarding their medication, such as how to use inhaler devices or explaining changes to their regimes.
Liaison with Community Pharmacy: Act as a key link between the surgery and local community pharmacies to resolve supply issues or dispensing queries.
