Newly Qualified GP

Job summary

St Giles Surgery, located in Camberwell SE5 are looking for a newly qualified GP under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS), to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract for 4-7 sessions per week.

The successful candidate will benefit from working as part of a supportive and positive practice team, in addition to the help and guidance we provide to our own colleagues, we are a training practice and regularly host trainee placements.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group.

Main duties of the job

• Undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion.
• Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.
• Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
• Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
• Developing care plans for health inconsultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
• Providing health education.
• Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards.
• Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.

About us

We have 2 partner GPs, 2 salaried GPs, a practice nurse and advance health care assistant, Joint working with PCN community paramedics and a well-established social prescriber. We also benefit from PCN, first contact physios and care coordinator on site. We are a training practice and actively establish in the local neighbourhood
