We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Nursing Associate to join our friendly and forward-thinking team at Morris House Group Practice. As a Nursing Associate, you will work under the supervision of our registered nurses and other healthcare professionals, providing care to patients across the lifespan. Your responsibilities will include supporting clinical activities, promoting health and wellbeing, undertaking administrative and organisational tasks related to patient care, and contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the practice.

Clinical

The post holder will make professional decisions, provide safe, evidence-based, cost-effective, individualised patient care. To include;

Support the delivery of routine immunisation schedules, including childhood and adult vaccinations

Assist with cervical screening clinics, ensuring a supportive and respectful environment for patients

Contribute to contraception reviews and family planning services under appropriate supervision

Support the administration of travel vaccinations and related health advice

Assist in the management and monitoring of patients with long-term conditions (e.g. asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension)

Support the completion of cancer care reviews, offering information and signposting as appropriate

Promote health and wellbeing through lifestyle advice, screening, and patient education

Participate in clinical audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives or locally commissioned services across the practice

Undertake routine observations (e.g. blood pressure, pulse, temperature, BMI) and phlebotomy where trained

Referrals to clinicians internally and other community based services

Accurately document care provided and observations in patients' electronic records

Work collaboratively with the nursing and multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of care

Perform and manage recalls for NHS Health Checks once trained

Provide wound care, removal of sutures, and other delegated clinical tasks within scope of practice

Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice to maintain registration and competence

Manage and deliver health care assessments to the local asylum seeker population (in accordance with the Asylum Seeker LCS specification)

Weight Management & Advice

Assisting with Minor Operations

Chronic Disease management - undertake appropriate investigation, clinical observations and interventions following agreed guidelines for patients with chronic diseases CHD, Diabetes, Hypertension and Learning Disabilities.

Assisting the nurse with simple dressings

Micro suction (once trained and competent)

Emergency Care Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient

Adult and child safeguarding - recognise adult and child safeguarding situations and acting/reporting concerns appropriately

Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies and encourage principles of self-care Offer holistic service to patients and their families, developing where appropriate an on-going plan of care/support, with an emphasis on prevention and self-care

Chaperoning duties

Administration

Order medicines and consumables from suppliers and maintain organised records and invoices for payment/audit

Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording

Monitoring, ordering and rotation of clinical stock for use in the practice

Checking, clearing and restocking of clinical rooms
