Job summary

Great Barr Medical Centre have a vacancy for a Medical Receptionist to join our very busy practice team. We are looking for someone enthusiastic, hard- working and conscientious. You must have good customer service skills, empathy and enjoy working within a team. Main aspects of the role are to receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. The successful applicant will be required to work between the hours of 7.45am 6.30pm on a rota basis. Flexibility is an essential requirement as you may be required to cover annual leave or sickness absence. Previous medical reception experience is preferred.

Main duties of the job

Receptionists are the first point of contact for patients either face to face at reception or via the telephone dealing with patient enquiries. You will provide a receptionist service and administrative support at the practice for management of appointments and maintenance of records.

The centre use System One, but can consider those with other IT experience (such as EMIS). The Practice are looking for someone who fits in well with the current team and shares the same ethos and culture as the practice. Training can be provided for those who may not have used the system or had previous experience working in a clinical environment.

It would be desirable if you have had primary care experience, ideally General Practice, however training full will be provided.

The Practice is within a purpose built site, with free parking on site for staff members.
