Part time 10 hours per week Phlebotomist (flexible as to when this is worked across the week).
Rainworth Surgery is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic phlebotomist to join our practice team.
Phlebotomy is an essential part of our clinical service, and we are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist who is confident in taking blood samples, managing patients effectively, and delivering high quality care.
The successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced environment, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and be able to put patients at ease while maintaining professionalism at all times.

About us
Rainworth Surgery provides primary care services to patients in Rainworth and the surrounding areas.
We are a small, close knit team comprising 4 GPs, 3 Nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistant and 14 administrative staff. Our team is known for being friendly, supportive and hardworking, with a strong commitment to delivering quality patient care.
The practice is based within a Primary Care Centre and benefits from a well maintained, modern working environment. There is a large onsite car park, and the location offers easy access from Mansfield and surrounding areas.

Job responsibilities
MAIN DUTIES
- Obtaining
patient consent for the collection of a blood sample
- Performing
venepuncture in accordance with practice protocols
- Maintaining
accurate patient records on the clinical IT system and ensuring specimens are
ready for onward transportation
- The
correct labelling, packaging and storing of samples
- Effective
use of the specimen log, resolving any discrepancies
- Ensuring
samples are sent to the laboratory in a timely manner
- Maintaining
effective liaison with the NHS Trust laboratory staff
- Working
collaboratively with the clinical team, seeking guidance when necessary for
patient related matters
- Being
an integral part of the general practice team
- Acting
as a chaperone as required
- Ensuring
clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in
accordance with the organisations IPC Policy
- Be
aware of duties and responsibilities regarding current legislation and adhere
to practice policies and procedures on safeguarding adults and safeguarding
children
- Supporting the administrative team on an as-required basis
- Undertaking
all mandatory training and induction programmes
- Contributing
to and embracing the spectrum of clinical governance
