Job summary
We are looking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic, professional receptionist to join our team.
Working pattern; 16 hours split between Thursday & Friday.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be
responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision
of general support to the team.
Act as the central point of contact for
patients, be responsible for the distribution of information, messages and
enquiries for the clinical team, liaise external agencies such as secondary care and community service
providers.
Most importantly you will advocate for patients and provide a supportive and friendly service.

Principal Accountabilities:
- To support the partners, managers and colleagues in the provision of primary care services for the patients of the practice.
- Accurately detail information on patients records within the clinical system
- Maintain the practice appointment system
- Process patient requests for appointments in person, via telephone or e-requests
- Assist with triage administration
- Signpost patients via care navigation to the appropriate service
- Initiate contact with and respond to, requests form patients, team members and external agencies
- Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
- Open & close down of the premises
- Act as a chaperone as required
- Make and record all ambulance bookings
- Work with colleagues to ensure reception area and reception notice boards are kept tidy and up to date
- Liaise with members of the ICB district nurses, health visitor, midwife etc
- Undertake a broad spectrum of administrative duties commensurate with the role i.e. recall of patients to clinics, processing tasks/letters/pathology, registration of patients, process insurance reports, dressing board, emails
- Be flexible to ensure reception cover during holiday/sickness periods
- Support the delivery of enhanced services and other service requirements
- Undertake all mandatory training and induction programmes
- Support in the management of repeat prescriptions adhering to the practices policy
- Be aware of duties and responsibilities regarding practice policies relating to safeguarding children & adults
