Rainworth Surgery is seeking to expand our Reception Team. Full time and part time hours considered.
Main duties of the job
Our Reception staff are the first point of contact for the majority of our patients, so the ideal candidate should display an outstanding level of customer service and communication skills. Experience working within primary care would be desirable, but not essential as full training will be given to the successful candidate.

Rainworth Surgery is a Systemone Practice who provide high level of care and support for over 6000 patients in the Rainworth and Blidworth area. Rainworth Surgery is part of the Newark and Sherwood PCN. We are situated within the Rainworth Primary Care Centre on Warsop Lane. Our reception area is a fast pace environment with lots of patients coming through the building, the right candidate must be approachable, flexible, and able to adapt to all situations.

Job responsibilities
- To support the partners, managers and colleagues in the provision of primary care services for the patients of the practice.
- Handle patient requests, either by telephone or face to face, competently, efficiently, sympathetically and maintain confidentiality at all times. Working within the policies and protocols of both organisations at all times
- To be efficient and accurate in the use of the computer and, with training, to be competent in the following areas:
- Answer the telephones promptly using the correct protocol and greeting
- Set up of computers on arrival at the surgery and closure in the evening
- Booking and re-arranging appointments for both services
- Registering patients arrival into the surgery and through to the clinician
- Registration of new patients
- Recording requests for home visits
- Amending patient details as appropriate
- Chaperone for the doctors
- Dealing with lab results
- Make and record all ambulance bookings
- Work with colleagues to ensure reception area and reception notice boards are kept tidy and up to date
- Liaise with members of the reception team, passing on appropriate messages before leaving the surgery
- Liaise with members of the PCN and CCG
- Work with the GPs/Nurses during surgery times, dealing with requests/queries
- Administrative/clerical duties as appropriate, i.e. recall of patients to clinics, communicate messages to patients, telephoning pathology department/x-ray for results when required
- Any other task appropriate to the grade as requested by GPs or Management
- Be flexible to ensure reception cover during holiday/sickness periods
- Keep the Waiting area tidy
