Job summary

Glebe House Surgery would like to appoint a flexible, hardworking, professional, friendly and caring individual with a strong can do attitude together with excellent people skills. A team player with great administrative and communication skills at all levels, well organised with the ability to work under pressure, remaining calm, focused and approachable.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, expanding and diverse GP Practice with 9500+ patients, 4 GP Partners,1 ANP partner, 2 Salaried GP's and 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner to work as part of a hardworking well established and successful team.

Main duties of the job

Receive, assist and direct patients to access the appropriate service to their needs, by phone and on front desk

Answer phone calls and phone patients regarding appointments, prescriptions, results and other queries

Complete all reception tasks from other clinicians in a efficient professional manner

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures.
  • To work in accordance of written protocols
  • Answer incoming phone calls and dealing with caller's queries appropriately
  • Process appointment requests / cancel or rearrange as per patients requirements
  • Deal with visits requests
  • Greet patients as they arrive at the practice, direct to correct waiting room
  • Signpost patients to the correct service ie pharmacy, urgent eye care etc
  • Send and reply to emails from outside agencies
  • Process prescription requests in a timely manner
  • Process patients change of address or name
  • Process any online access requests
  • Keep reception area and waiting room tidy
  • Input data onto patients records as necessary
  • Action any incoming post as necessary, frank any outhgoing post
  • General admin duties such as scanning and photocopying
  • Check rooms after surgeries
  • Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
  • Any other tasks allocated by managers
