Job summary

Nuffield Road Medical Centre is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced Practice Manager to join our friendly, well-established, and high achieving training GP practice. We pride ourselves on high quality patient care and excellent communication with our patients and team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly engaged leader to be responsible for the overall running of the practice. By working closely with the GP Partners, the staff and patients, you will play a key role in the development of our practice

Main duties of the job

You will provide leadership to the practice team and the business to enable the practice to meet the mutually agreed aims and objectives of the Partner Team. Your role is to lead and manage all aspects of the practice functionality, ensuring that the surgery is financially strong, and the team have the skills and knowledge to deliver an efficient, safe and effective service for our patients. You will be responsible for financial management, budgeting and performance tracking as well as ensuring compliance with contracts and regulations.

Staff support and development is a key part of the role and you will be responsible for motivating and developing the team as we continue to develop our vision of multifunctional support staff integrated with clinical staff in micro-teams. We see the use of appropriate technology to support patients, support staff and clinical staff as integral to this vision and the role would include the implementation of technological solutions.

This role requires the ability to work independently and efficiently while fostering a collaborative team environment to support the growth and development of the practice. You will oversee the clinical and administrative functions of the practice and this encompass both strategic and operational elements.

This is a broad role, and articulating every aspect is challenging. This job description is designed to give you a good idea of the role, however, there will always be surprises!
