An exciting opportunity has
arisen at Northgate Medical Centre for a Part-time
Medical Administrator & Data Coder to join our team. This
role offers a chance to be part of a warm and welcoming environment where staff

The successful candidate will
gain experience across a range of administrative duties within a GP Surgery.
While prior experience in a general practice setting is desirable, full
training will be provided. The primary aim of this role is to support the smooth
and efficient running of the practice by assisting GPs in delivering
high-quality care to our patients. The post holder will work under the indirect
supervision of the Practice Management team and will be expected to carry out a
range of tasks.
Main duties of the job
The Medical Administrator and Data Coder will play a key role in supporting the clinical team through a
variety of administrative tasks. Main responsibilities include:

Processing
and managing incoming clinical correspondence

Scanning
documents into patient records accurately and promptly

Accurately
coding documents via our clinical Systems EMIS and Docman

Using
the Docman
system to direct correspondence to the appropriate clinician

Photocopying
and handling other general administrative tasks as required

Supporting
the wider admin team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

IT
support
We use EMIS, Docmanand Patchs clinical systems.
While previous experience with these platforms is desirable, full training will
be provided for the successful candidate.
The role will involve handling the clinical correspondence
coming into the practice, ensuring it is scanned into the patients notes and
drawn to the attention of the relevant clinician through the Docman system, photocopying
and other general administrative duties.

currently have a list size of approximately 9,000 patients.
Our team consists of 3 GP Partners, 5 Salaried GPs, Practice Manager, 2
Deputy Practice Managers, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Manager, 2
Practice Nurses, Nurse Associate, Healthcare Assistant, GP Assistant and an
extremely experienced Administration and Reception Team.
As a proud Training Practice, we support the development of healthcare
professionals by hosting GP Registrars, Medical Students, and Student Nurses.

- Workflow of Hospital Letters and Coding Manage the workflow of incoming hospital correspondence, ensuring accurate data coding and timely allocation to the correct clinician via the appropriate systems.
- Data Entry and Processing Accurately input, allocate, and collate clinical and administrative data using practice systems. Ensure all information is recorded in line with established procedures and confidentiality standards.
- Patient and Multidisciplinary Teams Communication Initiate and respond to requests from patients, colleagues, and external healthcare providers in a professional and timely manner, both by telephone and electronically.
- Team Support Provide support across the administrative team and contribute to the effective running of the practice, working collaboratively with all departments.
- Other Duties Undertake any other appropriate duties as requested by the Partners or Practice Management team to support the smooth running of the surgery.
