Job summary
Northgate Medical Centre are looking for an enthusiastic and
dedicated GP to join our established team starting in December 2023. We are a GP Surgery based in Chester City Centre and have a
patient list size of around 8250, with a team of 3 GP partners, 4 Salaried GPS,
ANP, 3 Practice Nurses, TNA, Healthcare Assistant and an experienced
Administration and Reception Team. We
welcome GPs with innovative ideas and special interests.
You will be working alongside a supportive clinical
team, who pride ourselves on offering patients a high standard of care. We are a Training GP Practice which includes,
Registrars, Medical Students and Student Nurses. We are looking for a Salaried GP to work 4 to
6 sessions per week.
Main duties of the job
1.Undertake all the duties associated with the role of a General Practitioner required by the GMS contract
2. Comply with
all the objectives of the GMS Contract.
3. Support and
contribute to the development of Practice clinical procedures and
protocols
4. Accurate and
timely input of patient data onto the clinical system
5. Carrying out
clinical audits as appropriate
6. Completion of
reports for solicitors, insurance companies and others
7. Liaise with
other health care professionals when required
8. Act in a way
that protects the confidentiality of patients and maintains the integrity
of the patient / Practice relationship
9. Take an active
role and contribute to Practice meetings
10. Take on Lead
responsibilities in any agreed area of clinical management
12. Participate in
the GP appraisal scheme
13. Contribute to
the development and improvement of the Practice
14. Work safely at
all times in accordance with Legislative requirements and Practice Policy
and Procedures.
15. Results/Docman/Tasks - view and action in timely manner
16. Referrals- liaise with the
secretaries to ensure the referrals are done timely and appropriately in
line with the Practice referral procedures
17. Data quality- use of read codes
and EMIS templates to add data

Pharmacy Technician, Physiotherapist, Counselling Service, Paramedic, Social
Prescriber, Dietitian, Care-Coordinator, Occupational Therapist and Mental
Health Practitioner.

The candidate must have excellent clinical and interpersonal skills to ensure safe, effective and high standards of practice are maintained at all times. They should be willing to work hard to develop the role to compliment the clinical and administration staff.
Daily Sessions will include:
AM Session:
12 appointments
to include F2F, telephone, book on the day, pre-bookable and clinician only to
book appointments.
PM Session:
12 appointments
F2F, telephone, book on the day, pre-bookable and clinician only to book
appointments.
Home Visits:
Home visits
equally distributed, as discussed and agreed in the morning meeting after surgery.
We have the benefit of a visiting paramedic team to help with daily visit
requests.
Duty Doctor
Sessions:
Equally
distributed on the weekly rota.
AM Session 8:00 AM
1:00PM
PM Session 1:00PM 6:30PM
Duty doctor sessions are included which are triage support and emergency face to face consultations. Triage and distribution of home visits as per clinical need. Deal with urgent tasks, support with medication queries and/or laboratory results requiring urgent management. Respond in a timely fashion to AVS calls when informed by the administration staff.
Daily administrative work will include:
- Results- View and action where appropriate.
- Docman- actioned and forwarded to Data team for filing.
- Referrals- liaise with the secretaries to ensure the referrals are done. timely and appropriately in line with the Practice referral procedures.
- Data quality- use of read codes and EMIS templates to add data.
- Emails- up to date with correspondence.
- Reports- insurance PMA, safeguarding reports etc. on patients that you have seen.
In the instance of clinicians leave, to share the administrative work fairly such as Prescriptions, Docman, Pathology Results etc.
The candidate must be aware of practice targets related to quality audits, take part in particular areas of QOF and IIF work and report back in meetings. Regular attendance and input in clinical meetings, SEA meetings, peer reviews, practice meetings, palliative care and MDT meetings, primary care meetings, case conferences and attendance to practice led training sessions.
