Job summary

As the operations manager you will support the practice business manager in all aspects of practice functionality, leading on HR, motivating and managing staff, optimising efficiency and overall performance and helping to ensure that the practice achieves its long-term strategic objectives in a safe, happy and effective working environment.

Through innovative ways of working, you will support the practice business manager in leading the team by promoting equality, diversity & inclusion, support our health and safety lead, remain focused on quality & continuous improvement, ensure confidentiality, support collaborative working to provide great service delivery, and ensure that learning and development continues for all staff, whilst helping to support the practice with CQC compliance.

As with any position, experience is beneficial and for this role previous experience of working within an HR function would help and might be considered essential.Further experience of complaints management would also support you in your day to day work.

Main duties of the job

All aspects of HR management are key in this role, so previous HR experience would be beneficial to any applicant. Embracing the use of Agilio Teamnet to support this area of work will be key.

The day to day general management of the surgery is an expectation of the position holder and would appeal to anyone who likes to be busy with a wide variety of tasks to complete, sometimes all at the same time!

The successful candidate would be expected to manage complex complaints that are received by the surgery, working to agreed protocols and ensuring that learning remains key with this area of work.

You will be a key contact for the surgery, working alongside and supported by members of the surgery leadership team. You will also be expected to work closely with our very supportive patient support group, The Friends of Avisford, and also with our very hard working local Primary Care Network (PCN) team.

About us

We are a very friendly, busy GP practice situated in West Sussex between Littlehampton and Bognor Regis and are looking for an Operations Managers to support the day to day running of the business.

We serve a population of approximately 11,500 patients and support their needs across two sites which are based in Middleton-on-Sea and Yapton.

Whilst this is the NHS, we do try to maintain a calm and supportive working environment.
