Job summary
The Leith Hill Practice is looking to recruit an administrator to join our existing small but mighty administration team on a full time basis (Mon - Fri 37.5 hours) You will provide general administrative support to the our four GP Partners, clinical and non clinical team.
Main duties of the job
We're looking for a dedicated administrator to join our vibrant admin team. You'll work closely with our small, hardworking team to provide excellent clerical support to both the practice and our patients. Everyday will bring something new, with a variety of tasks to keep things interesting. Full training will be provided with opportunities for career development. While prior experience in general practice is a bonus, it's not essential - just a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn!
About us
The Leith Hill Practice is a dispensing GP practice situated between Horsham and Dorking. Our friendly team of healthcare professionals and support staff provide care to over 8000 patients within the surrounding area. We are based across two sites in Capel and South Holmwood, with our main site being in Capel village. As part of the Dorking PCN we work closely with the local practices and a team of multidisciplinary staff consisting of Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, Physiotherapists, Paramedic Practitioners and more, to provide the highest level of care. As a training practice, we hold placements for GP Registrars, Student Nurses and Medical Students.

Job responsibilities
- Accurately preparing patient referrals, letters, reports, and other documents with attention to quality.
- Processing patient registrations and record deductions promptly and efficiently.
- Updating and maintaining patient record amendments, including registrations and deductions.
- Summarising new patient medical records, both paper and electronic, in accordance with coding protocols.
- Managing invoicing for private work and overseeing credit control.
- Handling medical/insurance requests and Subject Access Requests.
- Maintaining non-clinical stock levels in the practice.
- Courier runs between the main and branch sites (under 5 miles, with mileage and business insurance provided).
- Providing shared reception cover until 18:30 - 20:30 as part of the team.
- Performing any other administrative tasks as required within the practice.
