Main duties of the job
We are looking for a dedicated administrator to join our practice admin team. The successful candidate will work within our small but mighty team to provide a quality clerical service to the practice and our patients. The role is varied with no day the same; full training will be given to the successful candidate with the opportunity for career progression.Previous general practice experience desirable but not essential.
About us
The Leith Hill Practice is a dispensing GP practice situated between Horsham and Dorking. Our friendly team of healthcare professionals and support staff provide care to over 8000 patients within the surrounding area. We are based across two sites in Capel and South Holmwood, with our main site being in Capel village. As part of the Dorking PCN we work closely with the local practices and a team of multidisciplinary staff consisting of Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, Physiotherapists, Paramedic Practitioners and more, to provide the highest level of care. As a training practice, we hold placements for GP Registrars, Student Nurses and Medical Students.

Job description
Job responsibilities
- Preparation of patient referrals, letters, reports, etc. in an accurate and quality manner.
- Processing of patient registrations and deductions of patient records in a timely manner.
- Maintaining patient record amendments
- Scanning and coding of all clinical and non-clinical correspondence
- Summarising of new patient medical records, both paper and electronic in line with coding protocols.
- Invoicing of private work and managing credit control.
- Processing of medical / insurance and Subject Access Requests.
- Receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls to facilitate timely and appropriate actions towards patient care.
- Ensure messages are relayed correctly to the relevant team member when dealing with queries.
- Liaising with healthcare providers regarding patient care.
- To maintain levels of non-clinical stock in the practice.
- Understand and adhere to practice policies and relevant GDPR, Health and Safety and Confidentiality legislation
- Taking part in all mandatory training, annual appraisal and continued education, learning and development.
- Courier run between main site and branch site (under 5 miles, mileage and business insurance paid)
- EAS Reception cover until 18:30 - 20:30 alternate weeks
- Any other administrative duties within the practice.
