Job summary
A medical receptionist/administrator is the primary representative of our GP Practice. A medical receptionist/administrator will need to be capable of handling patients needs and requirements; to ensure a good overall experience.
Receptionists/administrators need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, to interact well with patients and colleagues, answer the telephone, and relay messages effectively. The front of house team are often juggling multiple responsibilities, so the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively is extremely important.
Main duties of the job
A GP receptionist/administrators main duties involve providing administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth operation of the practice and a positive patient experience. This includes managing appointments, handling patient inquiries, processing paperwork, and maintaining patient records. They act as the first point of contact for patients, both in person and on the phone, and are responsible for directing patients to the appropriate services.

We are a warm and friendly practice, which a fantastic work-life balance. You will be joining a well-established primary care team working with five other Streatham PCN practices. We have a mixed patient population with many generations of patients who have stayed registered with our practice for many years. We see ourselves as a traditional family GP Surgery and have established a good rapport with our patients. We are a training practice with a list size of just over 8000 patients.
