experienced Practice Nurse or a qualified Nurse looking to become a Practice
Nurse.
Previous experience with SystmOne in a
GP Practice is desirable.
This is a part time position, hours to
be approximately 20-25 hours per week working over our two surgery sites at
Heacham and Snettisham. We are offering
a salary depending on experience and NHS pension.

Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will have a positive
attitude and excellent communication skills.
They will work independently in accordance with the NMC code of conduct
and provide evidence-based care. This is
a varied and challenging role and will support the delivery of the services to
patients including:
Wound
care management including applying and removing dressings and removing sutures.
Performing
diagnostic tests and carry out examinations for blood pressure, venepuncture,
urinalysis, ear examinations, swabs andspecimens.
Vaccinations including flu, Covid, Shingles, B12, pneumococcal, B12 etc.
General
health and well-being promotion.

two surgeries at Heacham and Snettisham serving approximately 7,500 patients. Our clinical team includes 3 GP Partners, 2
Salaried GPs and very skilled Nursing team including Nurse Practitioners,
Specialist Nurses and HCAs. We are a

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job summary:
The practice nurse will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing General Medical Services to the patients of practice, delivering care within their own level of competency and scope of practice.
To work independently to provide and maintain a high professional standard of nursing care in adherence to all Practice protocols/policies & guidelines, as well as to provide nursing assistance, where required, to other members of the primary healthcare team.
To participate in the provision of mentorship/clinical supervision for all Health Care Assistants and colleagues alike, creating an effective shared learning environment.
Job responsibilities:
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by the GPs and other members of the Nursing Team
- Wound care and dressings
- Removal of Sutures/clips
- Urinalysis and preparation of specimens for laboratory and analysis.
- Venepuncture
- Routine immunisations and vaccinations
- Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings and acting as chaperone as required
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
- Interest in Chronic Disease Management
- Following agreed clinical protocols as appropriate
Other tasks will include:
- Chaperoning and assisting patients who are being examined by another clinician
- Supporting ordering of stock and vaccinations with other members of the team to maintain stock levels
- Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
- Maintain accurate records at all times
- Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
- To liaise and refer patients to other providers of health care and health promotion services.
- To delegate clinical responsibilities to members of the nursing team as appropriate and necessary, where they are trained to deliver such.
- To support local safeguarding policies - both adult and child.

- Responsible for the correct and safe management of the specimens process, including collection, labelling, handling, use of correct and clean containers, storage and transport arrangements

- Safe management of sharps procedures including training, use, storage and disposal
