The post holder will be an integral member of
the patient services team.
In addition to working as part of the
reception team you will oversee, support and supervise the team of
receptionists in the smooth running of the practice and provide proficient and
effective support to the practice team.
The post holder will work closely with the
reception manager in achieving practice objectives.
Primary Care supervisory experience is
advantageous but not essential. You may be an experienced receptionist or team
leader with GP practice experience looking to take the next step in general
practice.
You will be a confident individual who will
lead by example and take pride in delivering outcomes that lead to the highest
standard of care for our patients.
The role requires fast paced decision making
at times and can be challenging therefore the ability to work under pressure is
a must.
The post holder must always work within their
own competence and use their own judgement, knowledge, and common sense in their

About us
Crossley Street Surgery is a five-partner, semi-rural practice, set in the attractive market town of Wetherby. The practice serves 12,000 patients and is housed in modern purpose-built premises with all the usual facilities for contemporary General Practice, including wheelchair access and a lift. There is a comprehensive Primary Health Care Team and also many other added facilities both NHS and private. The practice is a local provider for joint injections. Private on-site facilities include Physiotherapy. These are all in addition to the regular disease management clinics.
The practice operates under a Personal Medical Services contract with NHS England.
The practice is fully computerised and paper light accredited. The practice is not a limited partnership.

Ensure adequate and safe cover is
provided at all times across the reception team, ensuring
management/supervisory oversight, with a balance of skill and experience.
Ensure the smooth running of the
reception area so that it is welcoming, friendly and clean.
Ensure posters and patient
information, leaflets in the surgery are replenished and up to date.
Act as first point of contact for all
clinicians and other staff, regarding any concern or issue, resolving where
possible or passing up the reporting line as appropriate.
Responsible for ensuring that the
practice is opened and/or closed on time along with the reception manager.
Co-ordinate best use of clinical
rooms.
Ensure that patients are aware that
there is an effective complaints process in operation and escalate any
appropriate and formal complaints as appropriate.
Propose any new ideas that would
benefit the patient experience.
Management of petty cash.
Support, train and mentor reception
staff.
Manage the reception rotas ensuring
suitable cover at all times, liaising with reception manager and DQ Supervisor
to ensure cover and correct skill mix and experience on each shift.
Support all clinical staff with
general tasks as requested.
Process personal, telephone and
e-requests for appointments.
Answer incoming phone calls,
transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately.
Signpost patients to the correct
service.
Initiating contact with and responding
to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies.
Read code data on Systmone.
Photocopy documentation as required.
Data entry of new and temporary
registrations and relevant patient information as required.
Input data into the patients
healthcare records as necessary.
Direct requests for information i.e.,
SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team.
Manage all queries as necessary in an
efficient manner.
Carry out system searches as requested.
Maintain a clean, tidy, effective
working area always.
