Job summary

The receptionists role we are advertising is varied and interesting. Working with an established and supportive teams over 2 sites. (The New Surgery & Barnburgh Surgery) You will be central to the soon to be developed Total Triage System. The position is 20 hours over a shift pattern of 3 days. Flexibility may be required for colleagues leave and staff absence. We are looking for someone who has a desire to learn, can work under pressure and has excellent organisational skills. Furthermore the applicant should have experience in customer service or customer facing roles with excellent telephone etiquette. Experience of working in General Practice and the NHS is an advantage.

Main duties of the job

You will be central to the soon to be developed Total Triage System. Telephone calls and dealing with patients will form a large part of the role, with care navigation and associated administrative tasks.

About us

The New Surgery & Barnburgh Surgery are to merge into one practice joining approximately 10,000 patients. We have a well established Primary Health Care Team of General Practitioners, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, First Contact Practitioners, including Pharmacists, Practices Nurses, Nurse Associate and Health Care Assistant.

Our Clerical team consists of our Practice Manager, Deputy Manager, Office Managers, Lead Receptionist, Care Navigators, Secretaries, Prescription Clerks.

The GP Receptionist is responsible for the efficient administration of all related processes in order to support the work of the practice, for example, incoming and outgoing telephone calls, making patient appointments, results reporting, patient services, prescriptions, clinical mail processing and use of practice EMIS IT system. The successful candidate will have a major impact in promoting a positive image of the Practice to patients and other visitors.
