Job summary

We require a treatment room nurse to cover for ideally 5 days per week though we would be happy to look at part time hours for the right candidate.

The role will mainly be centred around dressings, both complex and normal, smears and administering regular injections however all aspects of the treatment room skill set may be called upon.

Job Summary

To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients, as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team.

To undertake these duties without direct supervision, working within broad procedural guidelines. To follow all aspect of the NMC code of conduct.

To ensure that total confidentiality is maintained in that no information about patients, either medical or personal, is disclosed to persons other than those employed by, or attached to, the Practice for which such information is relevant.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

Basic wound care / ulcer care including compression and dopplers

  • Removal of sutures

  • Urinalysis

  • ECGs

  • Smears

  • Travel vaccinations

  • Blood pressure measurements

  • Diabetic and hypertension reviews (bloods etc)

  • Immunisations/vaccnations

  • To deal with urgent requests e.g. urgent ECGs

  • To deal with any bodily fluid incidents within the practice with the use of a spill kit e.g. vomit

  • Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician

  • Assisting GPs with Nexplanon fittings

  • Requesting basic pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs

  • Undertake housekeeping duties including, general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms

  • Undertake QOF, Enhanced service, PDMA reviews as required

  • Administration tasks, including but not limited to checking fridge temperatures, ordering stock, review of emergency trolley, stock rotation and ordering

About us

The Cornerstone Practice is based in the centre of March we have over 9500 patients. On staff we have 3 GP Partners, 3 Nurse Practitioners, a Matron, a full time Mental Health Co-ordinator, Treatment Room Nurses, HCA's, a diabetic specialist Nurse, a COPD specialist Nurse and a large admin team. In addition we have a large PCN team of physios, social prescribers, paramedics, care coordinators and pharmacists that undertake clinics for our patients.

We are a friendly team that work hard for our patients but also support each other.
