Brinsworth and Whiston Medical Centre is currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join our friendly and supportive practice team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the clinical team across a wide range of HCA duties.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and motivated Health Care Assistant (HCA) 25 to 28 Hours per week, to join our supportive and dynamic practice team. In this key role, you will work alongside our GPs and Nurses to deliver high-quality care to our patients across a range of clinical and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Clinical Duties

Conduct new patient health checks and NHS Health Checks
-
Perform venepuncture and prepare pathology samples for collection
-
Carry out baseline observations including blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, pulse oximetry, and blood glucose levels
-
Record weight, height, and calculate BMI, entering data accurately into the clinical system
-
Facilitate both routine and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring
-
Undertake wound care, dressings, and other clinical tasks as required
-
Administer vaccinations under PSD (e.g. flu, B12, shingles, pneumonia)
-
Carry out ECGs as requested by clinicians
-
Perform ear syringing and compression bandaging as needed
-
Support INR testing and recording
Clinical Environment & Infection Control

Ensure all clinical rooms are well-stocked, clean, and prepared for each session
-
Monitor and record fridge temperatures twice daily Dispose of clinical waste appropriately and replace sharps bins in line with IPC policy.
