Job summary

We are looking to recruit a forward thinking, team orientated Practice Nurse to join our successful expanding team.

You will be supported by a multi skilled experienced professional team of clinical and non-clinical committed staff.

We also offer mentoring and a commitment to training and development.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the practice team, the post holder will ensure nursing services are delivered effectively to the patient population. The Practice Nurse will be responsible for health promotion, chronic disease management, health prevention, as well as supporting the practice team in the delivery of clinical policies and procedures.

About us

We are a friendly and very busy practice in the centre of Dover with approximately 13,000 patients. We have 6 GP partners and 1 long term locum GP that work together with 1 nurse practitioner, 2 nurse prescribers, a diabetic specialist nurse, 2 health care assistants and 1 practice nurse.

Job responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

1. Leg Ulcers, Wound Care and Suture Removal

2. Giving immunisations as per the national schedule

3. Undertaking Chronic Disease Management

4. Giving Family Planning Advice

5. Performing Ear Irrigation

6. Liaising within the multi-disciplinary team

7. Record Data on Patient Computerised Clinical Record (EMIS Web)

9. Undertaking any other duties and training which may be assigned to the Practice Nurse by the Senior Practice Nurse

10. On-going support /mentorship of HCAs/trainees

Initial training to incorporate if not already in place:

Cervical Cytology Screening

Family Planning

Chronic Disease Management
