Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Prescribing Pharmacist to join Longshore Surgeries. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within the team.

Main duties of the job

The Prescribing Pharmacist will be responsible for:

  • Processing repeat prescriptions
  • Processing batch prescriptions
  • Processing weekly vulnerable patient prescriptions
  • Monitoring patients drug therapies, advising interventions, and informing patients of any potential side effects.
  • Instructing patients on how and when to take prescribed medications.
  • Conducting medication reviews.
  • Holding medicine de-prescribing clinics.
  • Monitoring CQC medicines management.
  • DSQS
  • FP34
  • Ordering
  • Adhering to applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures governing pharmaceutical practice.
  • Run specific patient searches where required.
  • Performing other administrative tasks where required.
  • Keeping accurate patient records.
  • Supporting a team of dispensers

The role will be spilt between three branch sites and could include remote working.

Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience as a pharmacist
  • Valid license to practice as a pharmacist
  • Detailed understanding and knowledge of dosage requirements and administration, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SystmOne is advantageous
  • Great organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
