We are looking to recruit a Health Care Support Worker who will assist the Practice Nursing and Medical Team to:-
- provide high quality care to patients within a primary and community care setting in accordance with CQC regulation, Practice Protocols and Policies.
The successful candidate will work both autonomously and as part of a wider multi-disciplinary primary care team. We welcome applicants with the relevant clinical skills and qualifications who feel that they can actively contribute to both high quality patient care and on-going development of the role and service. We offer a comprehensive induction and training programme supported by ongoing individual and group supervision.
The candidate must hold a clean UK driving license and be able to commute within the Practices geographical area and have access to the appropriate means of transport.

Main duties of the job
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by the HCA may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Nurse Manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:
Undertake new patient health checks
ECGs
Phlebotomy
Chaperoning duties
Smoking cessation clinics
Weight management clinics
Cleansing and maintenance of clinical equipment
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations as/when directed & trained to do so
Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being
Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being.
Other:
Highlight areas of concern with staff & take steps to address as/when required.
Liaise with other members of the primary health care team, outside agencies and Practice volunteers as required.
