Job summary
This is a new post we have decided to create to work alongside our hardworking Nursing team and our HCA.
The opportunity has presented itself due to the retirement of 2 members of our present nursing team and we believe that the addition of a Nurse Associate is an ideal opportunity to introduce the role into our practice as part of the recruitment of replacement staff.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected to undertake clinical observations - BP monitoring, temperature, pulse etc. and to undertake ECG's and venepuncture when required.
Support nurses with identifying patients with failing health and communicate with patients about care planning.
Administer rapid first aid measures that include Basic Life Support during emergencies.
Plus any other duties listed in the Job Description.
About us
We are a friendly mid sized practice with approximately 6200 patients. Staff consists of 4 part time nurses at present, 1 diabetes nurse, 1 HCA and 1 ANP. We have 2 partners and 2 salaried GP's.
The reception team consists of 6 part time reception staff and 3 Administration staff
Management includes the practice manager plus an assistant manager
We also have several ARRS roles within the practice.

- Be able to carry out basic mental health observations to enable the identification of possible depression and to identify signs of emotional/psychological distress amongst vulnerable individuals
- Identify signs of self-harm and possible suicidal tendencies
