Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our friendly, supportive team on a part-time basis (20+ hours per week). This is a varied role requiring strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to professional development. You will play a central role in delivering high-quality care and supporting both patients and colleagues, in line with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and our practice protocols.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties & Responsibilities
As a Practice Nurse, you will:
- Manage long-term conditions (including QOF targets, spirometry )
- Provide health promotion and disease prevention advice
- Administer childhood immunisations and vaccination programmes
- Perform cervical screening
- Deliver wound care, including suture and clip removal
- Support family planning and sexual health services
- Undertake treatment room duties (blood tests, ECGs, BP checks, BMI analysis, venepuncture)
- Apply and promote infection control measures in line with guidelines
- Respond to medical emergencies, including anaphylaxis and resuscitation
- Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to audits/research
