Job summary

We are looking to employ a 4-6 session prescribing ANP/ACP within our friendly training practice. We are happy to consider applicants from a nursing, paramedic or pharmacy background.

The role will include undertaking predominately acute consultations, mainly on a face to face basis, alongside administrative work. The ideal candidate will also be asked to perform some home visits an participate in other core activities, such as occasional vaccination clinics. The practice would be happy to support development of a special interest, if that fitted with the needs and ethos of the practice.

Main duties of the job

  • Undertaking face to face and telephone consultations with patients, including children, with mainly acute undifferentiated illnesses.
  • Making safe management plans, including prescribing, according to local and national guidelines
  • Administrative work relating to patient care.
  • Supporting with quality improvement within the practice.
  • Supporting with the teaching and training of students and other junior staff within the practice.
  • Participating in relevant meetings and helping us develop our practice to support the needs of our patients.

We are renowned for our patient centred approach and as a training Practice we strive to ensure our high standards are maintained. We provide services to around 12,600 patients from a mixed area, with a roughly average deprivation index.

We are a stable Partnership of six GP Principals. We also have five salaried GPs as well as GP registrars. We employ a range of multidisciplinary staff including an advanced nurse practitioner, 4 Practice nurses, 3 HCAs, several ARRS staff including physiotherapists and pharmacists and a full complement of administrative and management staff.

Clinical Practice

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe and high quality care.

Health Improvement

  • Management of health screening programmes and ensures other team members are aware of health priorities and screening objectives and programmes.

  • Produce accurate, contemporaneous and complete records of patient consultation, consistent with legislation, policies and procedures
