Job summary

Main duties of the job

You will support our triaging GPs and wider clinical team in relation to the management of bloods and processing of information relating to appointments, referrals and clinical investigations

You will liaise with patients on behalf of the GP, advising them on care pathways, follow up appointmentsand referrals.

Where directed by the GP, you will support the clinical team in undertaking basic observations and investigations, such as: blood pressure management, venepuncture, recording ECGs and health promotion such as smoking cessation. Training can be provided.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake the GP Assistant Certificate qualification.

  • Previous experience of working in healthcare/general practice
  • Knowledge and experience of general administration processes, record keeping, minute taking
  • Experience/competence in: blood pressure checks, ECG and venepuncture (or willingness to train)

  • GP Assistant Certificate qualification (or willingness to work towards)
