The Multi-Professional Student Placement & Engagement Officer is
responsible for the planning, coordination, and administration of high-quality
clinical placements for healthcare students across primary care and community
settings. The role supports workforce development by ensuring students receive
effective, well-organised placements that meet educational standards and
service needs.
They will establish and develop relationships
with students, practices/PCNs and Higher Education Institutes to support the
delivery of placements and encourage the future workforce.
The
post holder is responsible for acting as a focal point of communication between
the Training Hub team and external stakeholders, excellent communication and
organisation is essential.
Main duties of the job
Key
responsibilities
The post holder will be employed to
deliver duties and responsibilities as listed on behalf of Birmingham and
Solihull Training Hub and South Doc Services;
Placement Coordination
Coordinate
the allocation of student placements across GP practices, community services,
and partner organisations.
Act
as the main point of contact for universities, education providers, and
placement sites.
Maintain
accurate placement schedules, ensuring capacity is maximised and equitable
distribution is achieved.
Ensure
all placements meet regulatory, educational, and contractual requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build
and maintain strong working relationships with GP practices, clinical
supervisors, and education providers.
Liaise
with universities to confirm placement requirements, learning objectives, and
schedules.
Support
communication between students, educators, and host organisations.
Administration & Data Management
Maintain
up-to-date records of placements, student data, and educator capacity using
relevant systems.
Produce
reports on placement activity, utilisation, and outcomes.
Monitor
compliance with mandatory requirements such as DBS checks, indemnity, and
onboarding documentation.
Quality Assurance
Support
the evaluation of placement quality through feedback collection from students
and supervisors.
Assist
in identifying areas for improvement and implementing quality enhancement
initiatives.
