Title: Bank Receptionist
Responsible to: Senior Receptionist & Practice Manager
We need staff that are flexible in the week and can cover at very short notice.
The post holder is responsible for providing the first point of contact for patients and act as a focal point of communication between patients, doctors and other medical staff.
The Job Description will be subject to periodic review and amendment in consultation with the post-holder.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a reliable, punctual & trustworthy individual to provide a face to face point of contact for patients and act as a focal point of communication between patients, doctors and other medical staff; data entry of patient details, answer the telephone and other related tasks.
The successful candidate would have previous experience of working in an office environment and the ability to multi-task, confidence with computers and a good telephone manner.
The post holder should be proficient in reading and writing English. An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality and a willingness to undergo a DBS (previously CRB) check.
Previous medical receptionist experience and previous experience with the Adastra system is desirable.

1. Receiving and directing patients
2. Handling telephone and general enquiries
3. Making appointments and taking requests for home visits where relevant
4. Taking Messages
5. Processing all forms of communication relating to patients
6. Ensuring work areas are tidy
7. Cash handling
8. Making appointments for medical representatives
9. Making refreshments
10. All forms of data entry and recording relating to patients, including scanning
11. Assisting with the onward management of patients as required, e.g. booking further appointments,
referrals
12. Assisting clinicians as a chaperone where required
13. Providing administrative support to clinicians and managers within the organisation
14. Follow and adhere to Health and Safety procedures
15. Any other delegated duties considered appropriate for the post
