Job summary

We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Senior Administrative Assistant to join our team. This pivotal role involves managing day-to-day administrative operations, supporting clinical staff, and ensuring smooth communication between patients and the surgery. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced medical environment.

Main duties of the job

  • Oversee general administrative tasks including patient records management, appointment scheduling, and correspondence
  • Support the practice manager and clinical staff with administrative duties
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality policies
  • Handle patient enquiries via phone, email, and in person with professionalism and care
  • Maintain and update medical and administrative databases accurately
  • Assist in preparing reports, letters, and documentation required by healthcare providers or regulatory bodies
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and service providers as needed
  • Lead and mentor junior administrative staff
