Job summary
We are a small single handed GP Practice caring for around 4.500 patients situated just outside the town centre.
We are looking for an experienced HCA to work 16 hours over 2 - 3 days.
You will be part of a friendly, multidisciplinary team that includes 1 Lead GP, 3 Locum GP's, 2 Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 2 Practice Nurses, a Paramedic and a Nurse Associate, all supported by an experienced Reception & Admin team.
Main duties of the job
The HCA will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care including,
Phlebotomy
Blood Pressure monitoring
Obtaining patient consent for the collection of blood samples
Height & Weight monitoring (inc BMI)
Flu vaccination (under PSD)
Wound care
NHS Health Checks
Injections (under PSD)
Ensuring samples are sent the laboratory in a timely manner
Chaperone duties
Maintaining accurate patient records
Support and participate in shared learning within the practice
Follow infection control procedures
Assist in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
Help raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Assisting with the collection of data on needs related to health and well-being
Re-Stock clinical rooms
Assist with minor surgery sessions
Stock checks for clinical supplies

- Previous experience as a Health Care Support Worker with venepuncture competence is required
- Experience in a clinical setting is essential with an understanding of medical terminology
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and Healthcare Staff
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and best practices in all aspects of patient care
